Happy sick day
Well, it may be nothing to be proud of in the tradition of hard working Americans, but I am home sick. Strange little bug of general achiness and weakness. And Ken has it too. But I can actually take a sick day! So I am watching a lady paint water color Pointsettas on PBS, while I recover and rest.
We hosted a dinner party this weekend, with fondue as the centerpiece. It was a really nice time, and I felt very close and happy with everyone. Discussions got deep and intense, in a good philosophical way. I wonder if the communal spirit of the food helps create that environment of discussion and closeness.
For the past few weeks I've been involved in starting President Crow's blog, which seems to be going well. I think there is some good discussion happening, and it is a progressive act from a university president. Next comes the podcast. I am very interested and excited about these things. I feel lucky to work in an environment that embraces, however slowly, the new media for communicating messages. I feel like the podcast and the blog combine my interests in story telling, technology and visual communication into a nice little soup for me to enjoy. The university is in process of re-branding, which is interesting and exciting as well. We shall see what comes of it.
